Kacey Bradley from The Drifter Collective is back this week sharing some gift basket ideas that yes, you still have time to make for Mother’s Day. I love her ideas because they take the idea of a ‘gift basket’ and turn them into activities you can actually enjoy with the giftee! These ideas might have stemmed from gift ideas for mom, but they are perfect for any occasion. Take it away Kacey!
Picnic Basket
Everyone loves food, and picnics are a wonderful way to connect with others! Create a personalized picnic basket by collecting assorted snacks you might quickly put together for a picnic. Gather a few sandwiches, chips, nut bars, fruit, and other snacks.
To show you put extra thought into this one, consider their diet. Don’t forget the small details like utensils and drinks! Add a comfortable blanket to the basket with a fun game. It’s perfect for a Mother’s Day date, a romantic one-on-one, or hangout with friends.
Game Basket
Game nights are a wonderful way to bring the whole family together or to break the ice when attending an event where not many people know each other (office white elephants anyone?). Mix up the traditional games and pull together a basket with new favorites like What Do You Meme?, Sushi Go Party, and Watch Your Mouth.
Or make it an activity and add materials to make your own board game! Go online and get the instructions others have invented, or build your own board game by drawing the board and cutting out game pieces.
Unique Baked Goods Basket
Whether your recipient is gluten-free, vegan, or a full-on flour lover, there’s a baked goods recipe for everyone. What’s not to love about a prospective evening of sugar loading and Netflix?
Go for classic chocolate chip cookies or make a vegan chocolate mousse with avocado, cocoa, and almond milk. When you mention what’s in the mousse, watch eyebrows raise in disbelief. See? There really is a recipe for everyone. Don’t be afraid to mix up original recipes, either. Update a classic cookie recipe with new spice mixes or get creative with decorations.
Or make it a fun evening in by gifting all the supplies and baking together! A gift is the perfect excuse to go all out on edible glitter and over the top decorations.
Skincare Basket
Yes, a spa basket is common, but instead of gifting items for solo pampering, use the basket as a spa day!
Include two of everything- face masks, nail polish, slippers. Add a bottle of wine and have your most relaxing playlist on standby.
Celebration Basket
Sometimes you don’t even need a reason to celebrate. Give the recipient a reason to celebrate the every day and make a ruckus with a celebration basket.
It finally stopped raining cats and dogs? Fill a basket with silly string, confetti cannons, fireworks – anything you can now use outside! It’s officially summer, aka berry picking season? How about a berry pun basket before going to the local farm!
Gift baskets are a classic gift, but that doesn’t mean they have to be boring. Build them around a shared activity for an alternative spin on a traditional gift. Watch the recipient smile with joy at your thoughtful and creative gift choice.
