Spring Favorites from Target’s Opalhouse – Rattan, Bone, & Fringe

Spring Favorites from Target's Opalhouse
Image Credit: Style by Emily Henderson

Target’s new Opalhouse line is almost here and I 👏 am 👏 living 👏 for it. Opalhouse is Target’s answer to boho powerhouse Anthropologie with several pieces making me double take. (Seriously, look at Anthro’s lumbar pillow then at Target’s).

A lot of the Opalhouse pieces are great style dupes but get buried under the massive collection. And so, much like the Project62 California Casual Picks roundup, I picked out a few of my favorites to get your wish list started. (Opalhouse officially launches April 8th, 2018 but I’ve seen some stores unpacking early!)

Spring Favorites from Target's Opalhouse

Tufted Oversize Lumbar Pillow $25
After making my own lumbar pillow, I can confidently say this one is a great option. The multiple types of fringe in the neutral palette make it a style staple. I’d snip off the sequins to make it more timeless.

Spring Favorites from Target's Opalhouse

Bone Frame Collection $15
Your gallery wall is about to get bigger. Target has been pushing their framing options and I can’t believe they’re offering 3 bone look-a-like frames for $15 each.

Spring Favorites from Target's Opalhouse

Moroccan Wedding Blanket $30
Moroccan wedding blankets add amazing texture to your bed but usually cost a pretty penny. This white one from Target is beautiful on its own but would also be the perfect base for a DIY.

Spring Favorites from Target's Opalhouse

Caned Accent Table $90
Is it any surprise this one made it on the list? I never thought I’d be matching my furniture to a teabox, but my love of cane knows no bounds.

Spring Favorites from Target's Opalhouse

Round Woven Rug $50
Another classic. Target says this rug is good for indoors and out, but I’d really love to see it on the wall via Sarah Sherman Samuel.

Spring Favorites from Target's Opalhouse

Pink & Gold Pizza Cutter $10
When was the last time you used the word ‘cute’ to describe a pizza cutter?

Spring Favorites from Target's Opalhouse

Carved Wood Mirror $50
Fake the bone inlay look with carved wood. The little details would make it a great focal point in an entryway.

Spring Favorites from Target's Opalhouse

Rattan Tripod Floor Lamp $80
The open rattan shade is so light and airy. I’m curious to see how much light it gives off or if it would need a white drum shade inside.

Spring Favorites from Target's Opalhouse

Ceramic Scalloped Table Lamp $35
The Opalhouse textures are 🔥. This scalloped pattern is modern but feminine in a surprisingly neutral teal.

Spring Favorites from Target's Opalhouse

Artificial Fiddle Fig Tree $130
After over-loving (& over-watering) my fiddle fig, artificial might be the way to go. Finding cute planters big enough for a house tree is always tough, but this planter base gets rid of that problem.

Spring Favorites from Target's Opalhouse

Black Rattan Basket $35
The perfect basket for pillows, blankets, or even more plants.

Spring Favorites from Target's Opalhouse

Rattan Plant Stand $60
I had my eye on these rattan plant stands Anthropologie used to carry. I’m ecstatic Target now has a dupe and my plant babies can now get a home upgrade!

Spring Favorites from Target's Opalhouse

Papaya Kitchen Towel $3
Does this even need an explanation?

I am living for this new collection. As if I needed another reason to live at Target. 😉

Look twice; it’s no split image, it’s my one of my Look twice; it’s no split image, it’s my one of my favorite parts from the #haileyhome condo. There Michael had his desk shoved in the corner of our small bedroom. As much as I wanted a light and airy feel, the desk always felt unintentionally “floaty”. With just paint and shelves, his desk went from an afterthought to a defined workspace with it’s own voice that felt distinct yet still a part of the room.

In our current house, I’m looking back at this project since next on my list will be Michael’s office! Michael inspired me with his 5 year anniversary gift to me (a nice furniture piece- he definitely knows me ☺️) so my gift to him will be wood shelves for his new office, plus a little space makeover.

Excited to take on a small project while the kitchen reno is underway. It’ll feel nice to feel project progress somewhere and get hands on for the first time since Cade arrived ☺️
I set up a baby studio for Cade’s “month by month” I set up a baby studio for Cade’s “month by month” shots and there’s no way I’m taking it down for the rest of the year 😅

It’s worth the space it takes up though. Capturing his growth and personality feels like the greatest privilege. I can’t believe there were only 3 weeks between his newborn and 1 month photos 🥲

I’ll take any and all inducing tips 😅

I’ve been auditioning different rooms around the new house for my studio space. Some have great storage, some have better natural light, but NONE have over headlight lighting. I didn’t think much of it until I tried crafting after work and realized, dang, I really can’t see anything 😅. I tried to make it work with different table lamps, photography lighting, even grow lights (spoiler: do not attempt unless you like being blinded). It wasn’t great. I figured I’d eventually get a proper crafting light, but wasn’t thrilled with the limited, and frankly ugly, options.

I bet you picked up on this from the photo, but I finally found THE solution. @cricut just released their Cricut Bright 360 task lamps and it’s everything I could have ever dreamed of! I’ve been putting this lamp through its paces for a few weeks with nesting DIYs and will have a full review on the blog soon!
