Reasons Why I Love You Printable Valentine’s Day Card

Reasons Why I Love You Printable Valentine's Day Card

I think I say it every year, but Valentine’s Day still remains one of my favorite holidays. With a love language of gift-giving, it just gives me an extra excuse to spoil family and friends. A DIY card is a thoughtful way to show someone you’ve been thinking about them- and this one brings that extra special touch with reveal windows!

Reasons Why I Love You Printable Valentine's Day Card

You’ll Need
Valentine’s Day printable
Valentine’s Day cut file (if using a Cricut)
cardstock (this is my favorite brand for printing cards at home)
straight edge
Exacto blade
glue stick (optional)

Reasons Why I Love You Printable Valentine's Day Card

  1. Download and print out the card design. Make sure to check “Actual Size” and not “Fit to Size” to get the true 8″x6″ size.
  2. Trim the card to size.
  3. If you’re using a Cricut to cut the flaps, line up the cut out card on the 1×1 crosshairs on a light grip mat. The Cricut design space won’t cut on the true border, so this will make it easier to line up the cut file and the card.
  4. Load up the cut file into the Cricut design space and set the outer border rectangle to “draw” and the rest of the shapes to “cut”. “Attach” the whole design. This will give you a ghost outline you can line up in the design space! Send to cut.
    OR
  5. Use your Exacto blade to cut the reveal flaps.
  6. Fold in half along the straight edge/ruler for a crisp line.
  7. This is completely optional, but if you want them to slowly find each reason instead of quickly opening the whole card, apply a bit of glue all along the inside border. Now they have to open each flap 😉
  8. Fill out your top 10 reasons you love that special someone and happy gifting!

Reasons Why I Love You Printable Valentine's Day Card

I’m thinking of making 1 dark chocolate and Himalayan salt truffle per reason to gift along with these cards. Or better yet, an advent style reveal with different truffle flavors??? Hm, maybe a DIY idea for next year?

Look twice; it’s no split image, it’s my one of my Look twice; it’s no split image, it’s my one of my favorite parts from the #haileyhome condo. There Michael had his desk shoved in the corner of our small bedroom. As much as I wanted a light and airy feel, the desk always felt unintentionally “floaty”. With just paint and shelves, his desk went from an afterthought to a defined workspace with it’s own voice that felt distinct yet still a part of the room.

In our current house, I’m looking back at this project since next on my list will be Michael’s office! Michael inspired me with his 5 year anniversary gift to me (a nice furniture piece- he definitely knows me ☺️) so my gift to him will be wood shelves for his new office, plus a little space makeover.

Excited to take on a small project while the kitchen reno is underway. It’ll feel nice to feel project progress somewhere and get hands on for the first time since Cade arrived ☺️

It’s worth the space it takes up though. Capturing his growth and personality feels like the greatest privilege. I can’t believe there were only 3 weeks between his newborn and 1 month photos 🥲

I’ll take any and all inducing tips 😅

I’ve been auditioning different rooms around the new house for my studio space. Some have great storage, some have better natural light, but NONE have over headlight lighting. I didn’t think much of it until I tried crafting after work and realized, dang, I really can’t see anything 😅. I tried to make it work with different table lamps, photography lighting, even grow lights (spoiler: do not attempt unless you like being blinded). It wasn’t great. I figured I’d eventually get a proper crafting light, but wasn’t thrilled with the limited, and frankly ugly, options.

I bet you picked up on this from the photo, but I finally found THE solution. @cricut just released their Cricut Bright 360 task lamps and it’s everything I could have ever dreamed of! I’ve been putting this lamp through its paces for a few weeks with nesting DIYs and will have a full review on the blog soon!
