Candle Making for Beginners: DIY Essential Oil Beeswax Candles

DIY Essential Oil Beeswax Candles

I have a candle problem. A candle hoarding problem. One side of our sideboard is just candles. My family never used candles beyond birthdays or Advent growing up, so I never gave them much thought until college. I had one friend who always insisted on having a candle lit and gifted me my first “grown-up” candle. I always remember […] Read More

DIY Terracotta Earrings for a Summer Statement

DIY-terracotta-earrings

I am always down for good statement earrings- they’re the easiest way to make your loose, summer dresses feel like you just got back from vacation instead of just rolled out of bed (me every morning when I decide to do wake up and do work in bed instead of looking more human ✋). I still […] Read More

A Summer Honeymoon Travel Guide to Japan Part 3: Kyoto

The last stop on our Japan Summer Honeymoon- Kyoto! We spent the most time here and used it as a hub for day trips to Osaka, Nara, and Hiroshima, and I have to say it was my favorite city.  If you’re just dropping in, make sure to check out our general ‘summer in Japan’ travel […] Read More

DIY Naked Terrazzo Nail Art For When You Can’t Pick Just One Color

Naked Terrazzo Nail Art

Have we hit peak terrazzo yet? I’m selfishly hoping no, because I’m still rocking the terrazzo earrings from last summer and doubling down with this naked terrazzo manicure. Terrazzo is such a fun way to experiment with color palettes and there’s no way to mess it up! It’s really the perfect pattern for DIY. Read More

Organizational Nirvana with Target’s Made By Design Favorites

Target's Made By Design

Have you guys seen Target’s new Made By Design line? They started rolling out the collection slowly, and the line reminds me a lot of Muji. The neutral palette and clever solutions have me dying to move into our townhouse to start organizing! I’ve already bought a few pieces to hold us over while we’re […] Read More

Look twice; it’s no split image, it’s my one of my Look twice; it’s no split image, it’s my one of my favorite parts from the #haileyhome condo. There Michael had his desk shoved in the corner of our small bedroom. As much as I wanted a light and airy feel, the desk always felt unintentionally “floaty”. With just paint and shelves, his desk went from an afterthought to a defined workspace with it’s own voice that felt distinct yet still a part of the room.

In our current house, I’m looking back at this project since next on my list will be Michael’s office! Michael inspired me with his 5 year anniversary gift to me (a nice furniture piece- he definitely knows me ☺️) so my gift to him will be wood shelves for his new office, plus a little space makeover.

Excited to take on a small project while the kitchen reno is underway. It’ll feel nice to feel project progress somewhere and get hands on for the first time since Cade arrived ☺️
I set up a baby studio for Cade’s “month by month” I set up a baby studio for Cade’s “month by month” shots and there’s no way I’m taking it down for the rest of the year 😅

It’s worth the space it takes up though. Capturing his growth and personality feels like the greatest privilege. I can’t believe there were only 3 weeks between his newborn and 1 month photos 🥲

I’ll take any and all inducing tips 😅

I’ve been auditioning different rooms around the new house for my studio space. Some have great storage, some have better natural light, but NONE have over headlight lighting. I didn’t think much of it until I tried crafting after work and realized, dang, I really can’t see anything 😅. I tried to make it work with different table lamps, photography lighting, even grow lights (spoiler: do not attempt unless you like being blinded). It wasn’t great. I figured I’d eventually get a proper crafting light, but wasn’t thrilled with the limited, and frankly ugly, options.

I bet you picked up on this from the photo, but I finally found THE solution. @cricut just released their Cricut Bright 360 task lamps and it’s everything I could have ever dreamed of! I’ve been putting this lamp through its paces for a few weeks with nesting DIYs and will have a full review on the blog soon!
