Happy (soon to be) Mother’s Day! Did May sneak up on you too? I’m usually on top of major gift events like birthdays or Christmas, but somehow Mother’s Day always gets me. Which usually means I’m left looking for what I can quickly ship in time that Mom will actually like. Lucky for you, I’ve been through this a few times that I have a decent list going.
Here are some giftable indulgences for every budget that yes, can arrive within 1-3 days.
.01 Olive & June Nail Polish, BP | $8
Olive & June’s spring collection is a welcome dose of soft color. This BP shade is actually named after a mom close to the founder’s heart. Gift a bottle, create a mani/pedi set, or bring it by for a girls’ at home spa day.
.02 Mother’s Memories Guided Journal | $9
I highlighted Storyworth in the Christmas gift guide for Gen X moms; it’s a company that emails the giftee with weekly prompts then creates a hardbound book at the end of the year. This is a similar concept, but a physical copy to journal in if your mom prefers handwriting.
.03 Large Tortoise Shell Hair Clips, 2pk | $12
I LOVE these clips. It’s hard to find well-made, large clips and these do the job and look so classic. My mom always had a few tortoiseshell clips around so I always think of her when I wear mine.
.04 Tila Bead Bracelets [1] [2] [3] | $12-14
My mom is not usually one for bracelets, but she saw Tila beads at Anthropologie and loved the colors. Tila beads are flat so they’re a bit more comfortable to wear and layer. Gift one or create a custom set for mom.
.05 Handcrafted Matcha Tea Bowl | $23
My love of ceramics comes from my mom and I stand by that a handmade piece is a great gift for anyone. This matcha bowl could be for a tea enthusiast or just for someone who likes decorative bowls.
.06 Lemedy Sports Crop Top | $23
THE Lululemon Aaliyah Tank dupe. Wear it for a workout or as an everyday tank. This one had blown up TikTok and for good reason. I actually have 3 of these because I love them so much.
.07 1000 Piece Paradiso Jigsaw Puzzle | $25
This continues to be the year of puzzles. If you haven’t been able to get your hands on a Piecework puzzle, this one is a beautiful option that will help mom dream of her next post COVID vacation.
.08 Parlovable Faux Rabbit Slippers | $23
Another TikTok recommendation that is absolutely worth the hype. These slippers feel like a luxurious hug.
.09 French Country Cooking Cookbook | $28
Help mom fight quarantine boredom with some exciting new recipes. There are so many great, independent chefs publishing their own cookbooks that there’s sure to be a niche for mom.
.10 Sea Mint & Spruce Scented Candle | $30
A real-life, mom approved gift. I got this candle for my mother-in-law for her birthday this year and she said “It smells too good to burn”.
.11 Natural Gemstone Mix | $29
Your mom interested in a different kind of shiny rock? This gemstone mix is the best quality for variety and size.
.12 Threshold Oversize Throw Pillow | $30
At this point I’ve given my mom 3 different throw pillows as gifts at her request. Maybe it’s a mom thing? This one looks classic, but modern, and is a great oversize.
.13 SACHEU Stainless Steel Gua Sha Tool | $35
My mom is quite proud that she’s gotten her friends into skincare (in fact, the mother’s day skincare basket DIY was her idea and why skincare always makes the “mom gift guides”). This Gua Sha tool is from an Asian-American small business that is dedicated to the education of proper Gua Sha techniques.
.14 Wooden Cooking Utensil Set | $35
Who doesn’t love a wood utensil set?
.15 2 Piece Knit Sweater Set | $37
Matching loungewear sets make WFH feel more put together without having to be put together. This set gets rave reviews for its fabric, fit, and the top that’s wearable enough to pair with real pants.
.16 14k Gold Classic Hoops | $48
TikTok made these gold fill hoops go viral, but if it’s within your budget I’d say splurge on these solid gold. Over time the coating on the gold fill hoops will wear away whereas the solid gold ones will be around forever.
.17 Legacybox | $60-1,100
Both of our moms went through the process of converting the family photos to digital. Legacybox is the most well known service, but it seems steep. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly alternative, offer to spend a day digitizing mom’s photos yourself.
.18 XXL Hammock Chair | $66
Forget mom, I want this chair!
.19 Cooluli 10 Liter Gold Mini Fridge | $80
A skincare splurge. If your mom is already deep into skincare, get her a bathroom mini fridge to keep her products at the optimal temperature.
.20 Baratza Conical Burr Coffee Grinder | $139
Burr grinders > blade grinders. You bring more of the coffee beans flavor out when the burr grinder breaks the bean shell instead of just chopping it. Every morning Mom will think of you over her better coffee.
.21 Skillshare Membership | $32-168
Real mom rec #2! My mom has wanted to test out Skillshare or Masterclass for a while. Gift a month or a year subscitipon. I personally like Skillshare over Masterclass for more variety.
.22 Willsence Gooseneck Electric Kettle | $80
Yes, your mom probably has an electric kettle, but does she have a temperature controlled, goose-neck kettle? This is an upgrade that is worth it if your mom is an avid coffee or tea drinker. At Christmas, I recommended the Bonvita over the Fellow Stag kettles for durability and reliability, but someone mentioned that the Bonvita has a few internal plastic parts. This Willsence does not.
.23 Theragun Prime | $300
Real mom rec #3! Michael’s mom is big into tennis and requested one of the Theraguns. The Prime model seems to be a mix of all the best from the different models.
.24 COACH C Closure Puffy Shoulder Bag | $495
And if you really want to splurge. My first designer purses were from my mom and they were always Coach. I still use the Coach tote she had in nursing school. Their quality is second to none.
