Cristina & I are back with another collab post, and this time, we’re taking on Galentine’s Day! Valentine’s Day is easily one of my favorite holidays- it’s a fun excuse to love on everyone a little extra 😉. Pair these DIY Terrazzo wallets with some wine & chocolates and hop on over to Cristina’s post to see how to host a Terrazzo Galentine’s Craft Date for your own crew!
You’ll Need
wallets (looks like the rust ones are sold out, but similar here & here)
acrylic paints
brushes
Terrazzo is such a great pattern for beginner & pro DIYers to try since there’s no “right” way to do it. Whether you choose more angular or organic shapes, crisp lines will help keep it within the terrazzo style instead of creeping into brushstroke or confetti territory.
I like to use 3-5 colors in an analogous or complementary palette to replicate “real” terrazzo and add a dash of liquid leaf.
Work in layers, starting with one color and mapping out the biggest shapes. Let dry. Repeat with the rest of the color and shapes, making sure to overlap them occasionally.
Painting Tip: If you use pleather wallets, you can easily wipe off wet paint with a q-tip or magic eraser!
AND SPEAKING OF LOVING EXTRA ON PEOPLE!! You seriously need to check out the amazing terrazzo party Cristina designed. She is a creative genius and I’m so thankful that the blogging world has her and that I get to call her a friend. Her projects are stunning (Her DIY wall hanging has a place of honor in our dining room because I selfishly wanted to keep it in my studio but Michael loved it too much for me to keep just in my room 😅) and she’s ridiculously committed to community & creativity (our recent project, Make It Challenge, is all because of her!).
Her Galentine’s Day Terrazzo Party has the same welcoming energy and is full of fun details- she used the terrazzo wallets as place card holders!
