I recently got my hands on a Cricut Maker and am over the moon to bring you ctrl + curate’s first Cricut project!! I’ve mentioned in older posts that one of my internships was at a sign/display company where I became very close friends with the vinyl cutter. I loved putting in clean, vector files and watching the machine precisely bring them to life. Even weeding the vinyl was therapeutic as designs slowly became revealed!
I had also been wanting to do a “How to Ship Christmas Cookies” post for a while but had a hard time finding cute cookie tins which led us here. Click through to download and let me know what other Cricut projects you’d like to see!
You’ll Need
vinyl (I used metallic copper)
Cricut (any model will work)
blank cookie tin
SVG Gingerbread House File
1. Download the Gingerbread House file.
2. Add a “cut circle” the same size as the top of your cookie tin to your Cricut Design Space.
3. Place the Gingerbread House in the circle.
4. “Attach” the Gingerbread House group and the circle.
5. Follow the “Make” instructions in the Design Space to cut out the design.
6. Weed, add transfer tape, and apply to your cookie tin.
I’m so excited to use these for all the cookie exchanges this year! Big shoutout to Bon Appetit’s molasses cookies & honey Linzer cookie recipes and Trader Joe’s holiday Joe Joe’s for stocking our cookie tin. They were originally chosen for their colors but now will be making into every year’s cookie exchange alongside my go-to lemon shortbread. What are your go-to cookie recipes?
This was a great beginner’s project for me- I got to see how precise I can make cut files and I learned there is a difference between regular vinyl and metallic vinyl settings. I’ve been brainstorming other projects and would love to hear what you guys want to see!! I have a few ideas for apparel and holidays, but this blog is for you :).

That is adorable. I have been searching all over for blank tins for years. Glad to see they are finally making them. Love your design.

Me too! This one was a set of 3 from Michael’s. I think they’re on clearance for $3 right now.
