DIY Cleansing Yoga Mat Spray with Printable Labels

DIY Cleansing Yoga Mat Spray

A third of the year is already over guys, how is everyone doing with their New Year’s resolutions? I’m not even sure what most of mine were at this point, but the one I’ve stuck with is yoga. Man it feels good to start the day with a little calm. But with daily practices, my mat was looking and smelling a little worn. So I looked at yoga mat sprays and saw they were $15+ for essentially water. D-I-By By By.

DIY Cleansing Yoga Mat Spray

This spray is made in ratios so it can be easily scaled up or down to your bottle. I like keeping a little 2 oz. spray in my gym bag and a larger one at home as a room spray. Gotta keep it fresh everywhere, everyday 😉

You’ll need:
3 parts filtered water
1part witch hazel
10 drops tea tree
10-20 drops of your favorite essential oils
glass spray bottle
label sheet

Combine all parts in a glass spray bottle. Slap a label on.  Shake well. Easier than child’s pose!

You’ll want to mist your mat after each practice. This is more a daily cleanser instead of a deep clean. If you want to deep clean your mat, use a gentle dish soap and a bathtub.

So what’s in this thing? Well the filtered water will keep the nozzle from gunking up. Witch hazel is an alcohol and an oil, so it disinfects and acts as a carrier oil for the essential oils. Tea tree oil is the all-around perfect, natural cleaner. It’s antimicrobial, antiviral, and antifungal.

The essential oils are of course a nice aromatherapy, but similar to the beard/body oil, you can use lavender, sweet orange, cedarwood, or eucalyptus for extra antimicrobial benefits. Super sweet and simple.

It was so much fun making little labels I couldn’t stop at just one! All three are on the label sheet. Let me know which one is your favorite!

P.S. if you’re looking for an amazing home routine, I highly recommended checking out Yoga with Adrienne’s 31 Days of Yoga series. She has two and is low key hilarious fantastic at creating routines.

Look twice; it’s no split image, it’s my one of my Look twice; it’s no split image, it’s my one of my favorite parts from the #haileyhome condo. There Michael had his desk shoved in the corner of our small bedroom. As much as I wanted a light and airy feel, the desk always felt unintentionally “floaty”. With just paint and shelves, his desk went from an afterthought to a defined workspace with it’s own voice that felt distinct yet still a part of the room.

In our current house, I’m looking back at this project since next on my list will be Michael’s office! Michael inspired me with his 5 year anniversary gift to me (a nice furniture piece- he definitely knows me ☺️) so my gift to him will be wood shelves for his new office, plus a little space makeover.

Excited to take on a small project while the kitchen reno is underway. It’ll feel nice to feel project progress somewhere and get hands on for the first time since Cade arrived ☺️

It’s worth the space it takes up though. Capturing his growth and personality feels like the greatest privilege. I can’t believe there were only 3 weeks between his newborn and 1 month photos 🥲

I’ll take any and all inducing tips 😅

I’ve been auditioning different rooms around the new house for my studio space. Some have great storage, some have better natural light, but NONE have over headlight lighting. I didn’t think much of it until I tried crafting after work and realized, dang, I really can’t see anything 😅. I tried to make it work with different table lamps, photography lighting, even grow lights (spoiler: do not attempt unless you like being blinded). It wasn’t great. I figured I’d eventually get a proper crafting light, but wasn’t thrilled with the limited, and frankly ugly, options.

I bet you picked up on this from the photo, but I finally found THE solution. @cricut just released their Cricut Bright 360 task lamps and it’s everything I could have ever dreamed of! I’ve been putting this lamp through its paces for a few weeks with nesting DIYs and will have a full review on the blog soon!
