There are few items I consider essential for DIYing. The right grit sandpaper, quality brushes, a cabinet’s worth of spray paint, five different types of glue… but the most overlooked? GOOD LIGHTING. My love for Cricut runs deep (I routinely use my Maker, Joy, and Explore 3 around here) so I was already intrigued when they shared that their latest offering is lighting. Cricut sent me the new Cricut Bright 360 Floor Lamp to test and I can’t wait to share all the details!
Note: This is a Cricut sponsored post. ctrl + curate only works with brands that we can 100% stand behind and vet before ever accepting partnerships. All opinions and experiences are my own.
What is the Cricut Bright 360 Floor Lamp? (And its smaller sister, the Cricut Bright 360 Table Lamp.)
The Cricut Bright 360 lamps are task lamps optimized for crafting. They provide quality, broad lighting so makers can see and do more. We’ll get deeper into the details below, but key feature optimizations allow you to see every project detail with less eye strain, glare, and hotspots. This makes it perfect for detailed projects like jewelry making, paper crafting, or vinyl application where small pieces or faint cut lines make it difficult to execute precisely. I can think of a few projects where I would literally drag a desk outside to weed vinyl designs or rig a flashlight overhead to see better. I wish I had a Cricut Bright 360 then!!
The Cricut Bright 360 lamps come in a floor and tabletop version. The Cricut Bright 360 Floor Lamp has an adjustable height between 46″-56″ while the Cricut Bright 360 Table Lamp has an adjustable height between 16.5″-27″ (both are adjustable from the head pivot, they do NOT telescope). The lamp head and horizontal span are the same between the two models at a diameter of 9.5″ and 31″-39″ reach respectively.
How are they different from other task lamps?
Besides being the prettiest craft light (I dare you to quickly image search other options), its big, broad head evenly lights up to 4 sq ft. That is a nice, wide workspace now illuminated with beautiful, clean light. The head is also easily adjustable so you can pivot and move the light exactly where you need it.
Don’t worry though- that big ol’ head is incredibly stable and won’t get knocked over while you’re crafting. The non-slip, non-scratch, weighted base firmly keeps the lamp in place, unlike cheaper desk lamps.
The last thing that makes these Cricut Bright 360 lamps unique is their adjustable color temperature and brightness sliders! You can set your perfect crafting light from warm (2900K), to daylight (4400K), to cool (5200K), and everywhere in-between! All thanks to their LED bulbs.
LEDs over standard light bulbs?
There are 3 main benefits of LED bulbs over standard incandescents. 1) adjustable color temperature 2) heat control 3) long-lasting.
We’ve already touched on the color temperature range above, but I will say that this is the first LED lamp with a daylight setting that truly matched daylight. Daylight is my preferred lighting set-up, so I compared the Bright 360 to my professional lighting gear & natural sunlight and took photos to compare white balances. I’m thrilled to say the white balances were the same across all three and can see the Cricut Bright 360 being perfect for product photography too!
The array of LED bulbs in Cricut Bright 360 lamp heads do not emit as much heat as incandescent bulbs and don’t feel hot to the touch so you can safely adjust the lamp whether your 5 minutes or 5 hours into a project. I previously used a cheap desk lamp with an adjustable neck until I burned myself on the bulb making polymer earrings. That prompted me to only craft during the day or with overhead lighting until now!
And finally, LEDs are incredibly long-lasting. These bulbs have been tested to last over 40,000 hours, so no need to worry about changing the LED bulbs. (Note: like any other LED lamp, the LEDs in Cricut Bright 360 lamps are not replaceable.)
The LED bulb array gives precise, yet soft lighting I’ve never experienced while crafting. I feel like a whole new set of late night hours have opened up to me for DIYing!
Will the Cricut Bright 360 Floor Lamp or Table Lamp work better for my space?
Since the Cricut Bright 360 Floor Lamp and Table Lamp have the same lamp head size, light coverage, horizontal span, and relative height adjustment, the best way to choose between the two is to think about where you want your lamp to live. A table lamp might suit your needs if you have space on your desk or table. If not, a floor lamp can free up more workspace. Just remember that you will need room away from the wall to accommodate the counterweight arm.
How much are the Cricut Bright 360 Lamps? Where can I get them?
The Cricut Bright 360 Table Lamp is $199.99 and the Cricut Bright 360 Floor Lamp is $249.99. The Table Lamp comes in 2, click-to-assemble pieces and the Floor lamp comes in 3. Once you hear the *click* when assembling, the pieces are permanently locked into place. These are sturdy!
You can get the Cricut Bright 360 Lamps directly through Cricut’s site, Amazon, or a partner store like JOANN.
Anything else?
Yes! For this first release, the Cricut Bright 360 Lamps are only available in the color “mist”, which is a beautiful, soft blue-gray. In the near future, Cricut is planning on releasing both lamps in an indigo shade.
