Like many people, Christmas is right up there as a favorite holiday. But for me, it might be for an odd reason? I LOVE giving gifts. It’s always a fun puzzle to figure out what someone likes, what they’re into, and what they use, then trying to find something unique that they don’t know about or treat them to something they wouldn’t get for themselves. I nerd out about using design thinking skills and have debated writing articles about how to use an industrial designer mindset to sleuth out that perfect gift.
We’ll kick off this year’s round of gift guides with the guys and I promise no ties, belts, over wallets in sight. (P.S. you can view past gift guides for even more ideas here) And yes, while it technically says “for the guys”, I’d happily sneak these onto my own wishlist 😉 .
.01 Eco-friendly Over the Ear Headphones | $200
These guys are making a second appearance after being such a big hit for Father’s day. House of Marley (founded by Bob Marley’s children!) headphones are responsibly made and deliver such great sound.
.02 Hinoki Candle and Reusable Match Cloche | $66
I got my brother hooked on candles when he was in high school to help clear his after practice funk and now he’s always on the hunt for masculine but clean scents. This Hinoki candle is cypress, char, and vetiver scented and you can use the container afterward for drinks!
.03 Melinda Forster Abstract Sculpture | $90
More funky art please! Something sculptural but in a dark neutral can help elevate any space without competing with their already established pieces.
.04 Mini Bluetooth Speaker | $64
When my parents were visiting, my dad saw this radio I got for our bathroom and loved it so much he bought one the same day. He could have just waited for Christmas, but no haha.
.05 Goodfellow Dopp Kit | $15
I’ll never stop suggesting dopp kits as gifts. A nice one makes your morning routine a little nicer and if you’re low on bathroom storage, it’ll keep products nicely coraled in one, easy grab spot.
.06 Scratch Off Sports Stadium Poster | $25
My father-in-law has been trying to go to every major league stadium. This scratch-off poster is a fun way to help him see which ones he has left! Pop Chart also has a football, hockey, basketball, films, novels, and comic books option.
.07 Terrazzo Wireless Charging Pad | $150
I’m a big believer in wireless charging pads. They’re so much more convenient than crawling under your desk for a cord. You know I had to show off a terrazzo option, but I’m also loving this catch-all leather desk option, this complete Apple charging station, and this smaller basic and classic choice for different styles and price points.
.08 The Kinfolk Entrepreneur: Ideas for Meaningful Work | $20
A different kind of business book, Kinfolk Entrepreneur introduces you to 40 global creative business owners and takes a look behind the scenes of their lives and companies.
.09 Carry On Cocktail Kits | $18 each
Truthfully, you’re paying for the novelty with this one. But why not liven up the next flight for someone whose second home is an aisle seat?
.10 Wood Power Strip USB Surge Protector | $27
Surge protector, USB slots, flat plug, and beautiful. I have never met anyone who didn’t need an extension cord so might as well make it ~*aesthetic*~.
.11 Techtalk Poster Art | $24+
A little grunge and a little modern. The worn-in-blue of this immediately makes me want to frame it above a library chair.
.12 Artisan Playing Cards | $7.50
It’s game time. These cards will impress during a game of speed or in their box on a coffee table.
.13 Areaware Architectural Building Set | $40
Not quite the LEGO architecture series, but still beautiful <3
The next two gift guides will be for plant parents and sustainable gift ideas! Are there any other kinds of gift guides you’d want to see?
